I checked the IOS Security Command Guide and there isn’t a command “aaa authentication login console-login local”. I think you both are right I found the information below on Cisco’s Learning Network.

•console-in” is just a name, created by the person who is configuring the router. It is called a “method list”.

Here is an example of creating a method list named “console-in” and then applying that method list to line console 0:

aaa new-model
aaa authentication login console-in local
username bob secret cisco

line con 0
login authentication console-in

The above commands create the method list named “console-in”, and the method list, when applied, specifies to use the local database (usernames in the running-config). Next, we apply the method list named “console-in” to the line con 0, so now when anyone connects to line console 0, it will prompt them for a username and password. When the user puts in their username and password, the router will check the local database (running-config) to see if there is a match.

Based on this it would seem that the answer should be C

I did the exam 640-553 last week and was very well succeded ! I got almost the maximum score!

All the questions of securitytut site are very similar to the real exam, except that some IP addresses changed and you must use the SDM interface to look at the exact IPs.

Ports 1 to 44 are in same vlan. Switchport port security is configured on ports 1 to 44.

While verifying the switchport security functionality, I found that the switchport learned the MAC address dynamically and also saved it in running-config. The situation is when I plug the device into port 1 of switch it is allowed. When I plug the same device into another switchport (for ex: port 2 or port 3), the port shuts down !!

I am looking for the functionality which allows same device(once its MAC address is learned) to be plugged into multiple ports and also not allowing any device outside of the company to access the switchport.

Please help.

Hello guys,
I was looking into the various site to prepare for the CCNA Sec exam and notice that all of them just have 133 questions +16 labs?? I do remmeber that for the CCNA they have huge amount of questions and the labs.
Is it normal? I mean for the my ccna exam, almost al the question was the one that I did find in tut and the other site(just the numbers were changing).
So if I practise the question well I should not ahve any problem right?

I saw a comment earlier concerning the ability to find jobs with the CCNA Security certification. I am working on this cert now because I have seen numerous job postings for IT Security Admins and they all list the CCNA Security cert as a qualification that will be accepted for consideration. And these jobs pay well!! I think there are more jobs for the CCNA Security certified persons than for CCNA R&S.

You will need some Microsoft AD experience/training to go along with it, but the Cisco certs are very well respected in the IT community. I work for a large (Fortune 100) company and they have 2 job listings for IT Security Admins right now!! The competition for IT jobs is tough. Non-certified, non-experienced, and non-college educated people have no chance of getting an interview! I am MCSE, A+, N+, CCNA, and I have an A.A.S degree in Information Technology, and 10 years experience and I still have a hard time getting an interview! I always ask IT recruiters who call me how many people applied for the specific job they are calling about, the numbers are always 80-100 people applying for 1 job! These companies can take there pick of any of 50 highly skilled, experienced people! Anything to get an advantage over the rest is good!!

It’s rough out there in the IT field (in the US) right now! I see job postings all the time for EXPERIENCED Java Programmers and .NET Programmers, and the occassional Desktop Support Techs, but not much else.

Just a little tid-bit of info for anyone wondering about the IT job market, although I think the IT job market is better in larger cities (New York, LA, Houston, etc), however, even more competition for jobs in larger cities also, Good Luck to All!

Guys, I am intending to do the ccna_sec exam in the next few weeks and just wanted to check if all the sdm question are still valid? I ask as the SDM is end of life and it’s a bit strange that cisco pushes it so much. BTW, I went through all the questions here and Spike. are all those still valid?

Yes they are still 100% valid. I passed last week

Make sure you practice with SDM before the test. Just to note, I found the SDM sims quite difficult to navigate on the exam with a 15″ screen. I also found that some of the options weren’t clickable which was different from my SDM lab. This meant I had to look for the answers on different tabs within SDM. The theory is the same though so you should get through as long as you’ve practiced….

Passed today with 966/1000. Questions from here were the same as on exam, only Cisco changed some answers from sims and/or added some extra false answers to the questions. They also changed the listing of the answers. If you know the answers correct, you should be fine though. I had 1 mistake which cost me 34 points in the first sim of this site. Also, the acl of that sim is now 104, not 105 anymore, but Cisco still also lists 105 as an answer. Check the screens to be sure though. Memorize the answers of this site and you should be able to pass with flying colors. I cleared exam in under 1 hour.

Hello, i’ve passed a minute ago.
988/1000 one mistake made specially for prafilactic purpose.
Dumps is stlill valid. But be patient, when answering zone-based firewall SDM LAB, some questions diffure from Dumps.

I have passed the CCNA Security today 1000/1000 the dumbs (Cisco.CertKey.640-553.v2011-08-15.by.Spike.165q and exam collectoin) are 100% correct just need to study it carefully a slight change instead of bringing the drag & drop question they put them in check list but you must be care full in choosing the correct answer.
the Simulations were:
-VPN:diffrence was in the name only which is SF, SD, & SAC the question will be asked only about SF & SAC and the ACL was 172 (SAC), 152 for SF
-ZoneBase Firewall: all the same the sdm-access is correct and the ACL is 104 no longer 105
-Port Security Lab : is same even the port is 0/12 but please keep in mind you please put switchport mode access, switchport port-security than the rest of commands.

Once again I am saying all the question was from dumbs but you please study them with understanding of each question.

You are pass go & give the exam.

Is Cisco.CertKey.640-553.v2011-08-15.by.Spike.165q and Cisco Prepking 640-553 v2011-11-22 by Avani 177q.vce sufficient to clear an exam. But it doesnt have too many questions into it. 1 VCE contains 45-50 questions?Am i right?
